Kamelia Kids Christmas

It was the culmination of months of planning and weeks of hard work but they did it!

Robert Luff, 32 an estate agent from Worthing heard that Kamelia Kids, a local nursery for children of all abilities and specialising in the care of children with long term and life limiting illness needed help.

As the only not for profit nursery in the area Kamelia Kids was unable to fund the refurbishment and equipping of 3 large rooms at the Goring based school.

That’s where Rob and his team stepped in.

Enlisting the help of local trades and businesses the team started work clearing the building, ripping up old flooring, replacing old electrics and blinds and decorating throughout.

“I must admit at quite a few points I wondered if we had bitten off more than we could chew.” laughs Rob, Director of Robert Luff and Co.

But the team were determined to get everything finished in time for the grand opening and children’s party on 4thDecember.

With the hours ticking by all of the helpers worked around the clock and, with just hours to spare, finished! Santa’s Grotto was installed, balloons blown up and presents wrapped in time for The Mayor and Mayoress to declare the Nursery open and for the party to begin!

Says Rob, “I would like to say a massive thank you to all the local tradespeople and businesses without whom we could never have done it. Too many to name but every single one helped so much.”

Dorothy Calderwood, Executive Officer of Kamelia Kids, “It’s been an amazing journey and the community spirit has been amazing. All of Rob’s team did a wonderful job and have helped us continue the work we’ve been doing with children for over 30 years. And most importantly…the children loved it!”
